Frankfort's

Capital City Chorale

Information for Prospective Venues

The Capital City Chorale supports Frankfort's interest in the arts by performing at various venues during the year. If your organizations would like the Chorale to perform at your event, please read the information below before contacting our director, Gary Johnson.

Performance Requirements

Since our organization meets only once a week, we ask that we be given ample notice of at least three weeks in order to perform at your venue. When requesting our group to perform, you'll need to provide the following information:

  • the amount of time allotted for our performance
  • the type of performance: semi-formal or formal
  • the type of music, if you've got a theme we need to follow
  • if you have a sound system or piano available
  • if there are facilities for us to rehearse in prior to our performance

Repertoire

The Capital City Chorale performs two main concerts a year: a Spring Concert and a Christmas Concert. The music we rehearse is usually geared towards these two performances, however if we have enough notice and the resources, we can perform specially requested pieces for your event.

The music in our repertoire spans many musical eras and styles:

  • Renaissance
  • Classical
  • Folk Music, especially Kentucky-based
  • Gospel
  • Jazz and Blues
  • Broadway medleys

Fees

The Chorale does not charge a fee to perform at your event, however donations are always welcome! Normally, we do not perform at commercial events, only community events that may or may not involve a fundraiser for a particular organization.
